Reversed Axis?

Well I am glad to report that we suddenly changed to the northern hemisphere here at the end of the world. The last few days (the middle of winter) everyone has been walking around in shorts and T-shirts. The other day we were walking to the terminal and a wall of wind hit us that felt like someone had opened an oven! I'm not sure what is happening. But it's nice! It acted like it was going to rain, but never really did.

This last week was rough, our best investigator, Tamara, got burnt really bad at work making pizza. We are going to give her a visit today. Our other investigators are all either working in other parts of the country or on vacation. Frustrating, but we did find some really nice people out on the streets on the sunny days.

I find it interesting that there is almost no asphalt. Everything is either cement, or just dirt roads. My shoes have lasted all this first year! Thanks, Mom!

My bed on the floor
I don't remember if I mentioned, but I had to dismantle my bed so that I could fit on my mattress... My feet still hang off, but I manage!

Well have a great week!

Semana de Milagros

Just in case anyone was wondering, miracles actually exist. The power of God is real, and His promises are true! Believe in Him, come unto Him and He will come into your life with magnificent blessings through His Son!

This week I have worked harder than I have I think in my entire life, and seen results. The gospel is beautiful and it fills all the holes and empty spaces in your life.

Thank you all for your prayers in my behalf, I feel your love and strength.

Have a great Pioneers Day! For all those in Utah. Happy Friend Day! For all my friends out there that are Argentine ;)

Another Wintery Season

Hello Family and Friends,

Playa Union
I'm staying in Rawson with Elder Lyman! Surprisingly enough, it is colder here than in Ushuia when I got here a year ago. I think it is because the strong wind that blows in from the ocean.

It has been amazing to start to really put my heart into this work. I really feel for these people, and I am getting a small taste of how God loves each one of us. My eyes get watery more often, which is super un-manly, but a good sign I guess...

This week was transfers, and many missionaries are going down to Ushuia, one to my old area! Hopefully I will get good news from him. I am sick! Rawson just dropped about 20 degrees celsius one day and everyone here got sick. Yay...

We have some awesome people investigating the church. I can really see them getting baptized this transfer! They are all very interested in coming closer to Christ and their Father in Heaven. They amaze me with the questions and their desire and dedication.

Also, this week was Independence Day on the 9th for Argentina! Viva libertad!

Level 1-Complete

Happy Fourth of July!! I hope everyone got to see some kind of fireworks. I just remember last year we went outside the MTC and watched the Stadium of Fire and ate ice cream! So long ago, yet feels like yesterday.

This week was rough. Not much happened due to the Copa America (soccer), and Elder Lyman got sick. It was cool because some of the members are really pushing to get the ward going, so this Thursday we are doing a huge ward party for their independence day!

A spiritual thought before I go, trust in God. He will take care of our weaknesses, mistakes, and things we forget. His promises are true. You will be blessed if you do the things that He says. He loves us, and wants us to be successful.

Love,

Elder Bartlett

We went to a museum today!
